Follow
in the footsteps of St. Paul and see many places that played important roles in
the Christian world including the Seven Churches of Revelations, Cappadocia,
Antioch, Constantinople and Ephesus. As a bonus we include many of Turkey's
other gems.

Day 1 ANKARA - We welcome you at the airport, transfer
you to your hotel and give an orientation. (D)
Day 2 ANKARA - CAPPADOCIA - Today
we visit Mausoleum of Ataturk and Anatolian Civilizations Museum to view
outstanding collections dating back to the Paleolithic Age. Drive along the
picturesque Salt Lake to reach Cappadocia. (B,L,D)
DAY 3 CAPPADOCIA - We start the day in Cappadocia,
known for its bizarre land formations and settlements. Dominated by Mt. Argeus,
inhabited by Hittites, Assyrians, Persians, Greeks and Romans, it offers
magnificent rock carved monasteries and churches ornate with Christian frescoes
from the 7th-13th centuries. Next we explore Goreme Open-Air Museum, Zelve rock

DAY
4 CAPPADOCIA - ADANA - Today we discover the Underground city of Kaymakli,
built by the early Christians to escape from the invading Roman armies. It goes
down to a depth of over 300 feet. Later we visit Agzikarahan Caravanserai used
by traveling merchants on the ancient silk and spice road. Pass through the
famous Cilician Gates of the Taurus Mountains and arrive in Adana. (B,L,D)
DAY 5 ANTAKYA - ADANA - This morning we drive to
Antioch, origin of St. Paul's missionary journeys. Acts 6:5; 11:19-30; 13:1-3;
15:1-2; 22-25. Visit Hatay Museum with the finest collection of Roman mosaics in
the world. Near Antakya is the grotto where St. Peter first preached and is
believed to be the world's oldest church still in use, St. Peter's Church.
Followers were coined 'Christians'. In 1983 the Vatican declared the church
holy. Next is Seleucia where Paul sailed off to Cyprus. Overnight in Adana. (B,L,D)
DAY 6 ADANA - KONYA (ICONIUM) - We go to Tarsus,
birthplace of Saint Paul. Acts 9:11; 30; 11:25; 21:39; 22:3; 25:79 We tour the
town, see St. Paul's Well and Cleopatra Gate. We drive along the Mediterranean
passing Pompeipolis, Korykos, Maiden's Castle, Silifke and visit Derbe and
Lystra where St. Paul spent time. II Timothy 3:11. (B,L,D)
DAY 7 KONYA - PISIDIAN ANTIOCH - PAMUKKALE - Today we
tour Konya, an important Roman city and capital of Seljuk Empire. Visit Museum
of Mevlana, founder of the Whirling Dervishes. Next is Pisidian Antioch where
St. Paul decides to turn to Gentiles. II Timothy 3:11. Drive by Egridir Lake and
reach Pamukkale, "Cotton Castle" one of the natural wonders, where we
see tiers of white limestone cascading down the hillside. Enjoy the pools and
thermal springs. Near the waterfalls are the ruins of Hierapolis, a Roman city.

DAY 8 PAMUKKALE - LAODICEA - MILETOS - KUSADASI - We
first visit Laodicea, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation, where Christians
were chastised as being "neither hot nor cold." (Revelation 3:14-22;
Colossians 2:1; 4:13-16) Then visit Miletos where St. Paul went during his third
missionary trip and see Temple of Apollo, one of the famous oracles of
antiquity. (B,L,D)
DAY 9 KUSADASI - EPHESUS - IZMIR - We go to Ephesus,
the best preserved and most visited city of all ages. It is as popular a
religious shrine today as it was in ancient times. Revelation 1:11; 2:1-7; Acts
18:19-28; 19:1-41. The city was dedicated to the Goddess Artemis, whose temple
is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We tour the remnants: the majestic
theater, Arcadiane, library of Celsus, market place, street of the Curetes,
baths of Scholastica, agora, odeon. Next we visit House of Virgin Mary declared
holy by the Vatican and St. John's Basilica. (B,L)
DAY 10 IZMIR - AKHISAR - SARDIS - PHILADELPHIA - IZMIR - Today
we go to Thyatira, one of the Seven Churches of the Revelation. We continue on
to Sardis, the capital of Lydian Kingdom. It has one of the greatest temples of
Antiquity; the Gymnasium-Synagogue complex. Next visit Philadelphia one of the
Seven Churches, known as the city of brotherly love. (B,L)
DAY 11 IZMIR - PERGAMUM - AYVALIK - CANAKKALE - Visit
the ancient Agora of Smyrna (Izmir), go to Pergamon (Revelation 2:12-17),
addressed by Saint John. We tour the remnants of Acropolis, its famous library,
theater, Athena, Dionysos, Trajan Temples and figure of Nike, ancient medical
center Asklepion where Galen taught.We drive to Ayvalik to see the biblical
Alexandria Troas (Acts 16:8-11; 20:5-14; Corinthians 2:12-13; Timothy 4:13)
visited by St. Paul. (B,L,D)
DAY 12 CANAKKALE - TROY - ISTANBUL - Today we visit
ancient Troy, the site of the Trojan War immortalized in Homer's Iliad. We talk
about its history and Troy's legendary residents; Hector, Heros, Achilles,
Paris, King Odysseus of Ithaca and Ajax. We cross the Dardanelles by ferryboat
to Gallipoli and drive along the European coast to Istanbul. (B,L)
DAY 13 ISTANBUL (CONSTANTINOPLE) - Today we visit the
Blue Mosque built in 1616. Next we admire Saint Sophia, the Church of Holy
Wisdom (Basilica St. Sophia). Many consider it as the "Eighth" Wonder
of the World: Built by the Byzantium Emperor Justinian circa 535, it is awesome
in size, still the biggest basilica in the world and contains well preserved
Byzantine mosaics. Adjacent is the site of the Hippodrome that once held 100,000
spectators of chariot races and gladiators. On the site are the Obelisk from
Egypt, Serpentine Column from Delphi and fountain of Willhelm II. Afterwards we
tour the Ottoman Empire's Topkapi Palace, walk through its rooms full of
exquisite art and view its priceless treasures. Later experience the dazzling
Grand Bazaar which houses many artisans and is a shoppers paradise with over
4,000 shops selling precious hanmade rugs, jewelry, leather goods, souvenirs,
etc. Then we visit Suleyman the Magnificent's Mosque and stop to enjoy the
Golden Horn. (B,L)
DAY 14 Departure or Extension - Transfer to the airport
for the trip back home or if arrangements are made we go on to another tour or a
sea cruise or to a holiday resort (B)
